The world has changed considerably since the American School of Tangier opened in 1950. While we have evolved and grown, our core mission remains unchanged – to build an amazing school community. The AST Experience of continuous improvement supports a community who see themselves as lifelong learners.
Every aspect of a school’s design should reflect a clear, consistent set of principles.
Everything that embodies a school – the curriculum, relationships, behaviors, roles, and activities – must reflect the mission. When the school mission is clearly stated, focused, and understood by all of its stakeholders, it has the power to unify people around a common idea. A coherent, mission-based culture can inspire and unify a school community; it’s crucial to embed these ideas into all our practices.
